Abstract

The research study was conducted in Pune district of Maharashtra state during the year 2024-25 with an objective to study influence of the profile characteristics on performance appraisal of agricultural input dealers trained under Diploma in Agricultural Extension
Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) programme. Pune district was selected based on highest number of DAESI-trained input dealers and Nodal Training Institutes. All eight institutes from Pune district were studied, with 15 respondents from each institute selected
through simple random sampling, totalling 120 respondents. An ex-post facto research design was used for research. The data was collected using a structured interview schedule. The findings of the study revealed that the independent variables viz. annual
income, mass media exposure, extension participation, achievement motivation, management orientation, scientific orientation and risk orientation had positive and significant relationship at one per cent level of significance whereas education and extension contact had positive and significant relationship at five per cent level of significance. While, age had positive and non-significant relationship with performance appraisal of agricultural input dealers.
