Withdrawal Policy
IJAI is dedicated to upholding the integrity of the academic publishing process. Authors should carefully deliberate their decision to withdraw a submitted article, as such actions can disrupt the editorial and peer review workflow. This policy delineates the conditions and procedures for manuscript withdrawal.
1. Pre-Review Withdrawal
Authors may request to withdraw a manuscript prior to its entry into the peer review process. In this instance, the request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author to the editorial office via the journal's email address.
Procedure: The request should include the manuscript ID, title, and a brief explanation for the withdrawal.
Confirmation: Upon receipt, we will acknowledge the withdrawal request and confirm the manuscript's removal from consideration within fourteen days after consulting the editorial board.
2. Post-Review Withdrawal
If the manuscript has commenced the peer review process, withdrawal requests will be considered but are subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the editorial board. Authors are encouraged to continue with the submission process unless there are compelling reasons to withdraw.
Procedure: The corresponding author must submit a formal written request, including the manuscript ID, title, and a detailed rationale for the withdrawal.
Editor’s Discretion: The editor-in-chief will evaluate the request in consultation with the editorial board, and may seek input from reviewers before deciding, adhering to the journal’s established rules and regulations, which may include financial implications.
Potential Consequences: Frequent withdrawals following the peer review process may adversely affect future submissions from the authors.
3. Post-Acceptance Withdrawal
Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal requests will be entertained only under exceptional circumstances, such as:
Author Misconduct: Discovery of significant errors that invalidate the conclusions.
Plagiarism or Duplicate Publication: Instances of inadvertent duplicate submission or plagiarism must be reported to the editorial office immediately.
Procedure: The corresponding author must submit a formal request, detailing the reason for withdrawal.
Editor’s Review: The editorial team will thoroughly assess the request, with the final decision resting with the editor-in-chief.
Possible Sanctions: In cases of misconduct or failure to provide a valid reason for withdrawal, the journal reserves the right to take further action, including notifying relevant institutions and publishers.
4. After Publication Withdrawal or Retraction
In rare instances, an article may need to be withdrawn or retracted post-publication for reasons including:
Major Errors: Critical inaccuracies discovered after publication.
Ethical Violations: Evidence of unethical research practices, such as plagiarism or data falsification.
Retraction Process: The editorial team, in consultation with the authors, will determine whether a formal retraction is warranted. A retraction notice will be published, explaining the rationale, and the original article will be marked as retracted across all versions (print and online).
Post-Retraction Access: The retracted article will remain accessible in the journal's archive, accompanied by a clear notice of retraction.
All procedures will involve resource allocation, and associated expenses will be the responsibility of the authors.
5. Fees and Penalties
Pre-Review: Typically, no penalties or fees are associated with pre-review withdrawals.
Post-Review: Withdrawal after peer review but before acceptance may incur processing fees to cover administrative and reviewer efforts, which will be clearly outlined upon submission.
Post-Acceptance: Withdrawal following acceptance may result in additional charges and restrictions on future submissions to the journal.
6. How to Request a Withdrawal
All withdrawal requests must be submitted via email to alshodhana@staloysius.edu.inby the corresponding author. The subject line should read “Manuscript Withdrawal Request.”
Please include the following details in the body of the email:
Manuscript ID and Title
Author’s full name and contact information

7. Editorial Rights
IJAI reserves the right to refuse a withdrawal request if:
The manuscript is currently under consideration by reviewers or editors.
Withdrawal would compromise the peer review process or the integrity of the journal.
A valid reason for withdrawal is not provided.
The journal reserves the right to publish a notice of withdrawal if necessary to inform the academic community of the rationale behind the decision.
8. Appeals
Authors who believe their withdrawal request has been unjustly denied may submit an appeal in writing to the editor-in-chief within 15 days. The appeal will be reviewed by an editorial board or advisory committee.
